Bec Brown Says - What do you say?

From pro surfer to singer/songwriter star

What would you do if you had to make the decision to become a career musician or a pro surfer?

This was a choice that 23 year old singer/songwriter ADAM HYNES had to make just two years ago.

Musically winning the hearts of Australian audiences as a finalist on last year’s Australia’s Got Talent, Adam made history as the only contestant in the last decade to go all the way to the finals on any Australian talent TV show only ever performing original songs.

Adam went on to tour with Jessica Mauboy and Justice Crew, again, playing the originals he’s so admired for and earlier this month, Adam released his debut single through Universal Music – a Jason Mraz meets Bruno Mars Summery pop hit ‘Oh My Word’.

So while music has clearly won, his love of the ocean is never far behind.

With summer fast approaching, Adam Hynes will be touring along the coast, coincidentally playing in towns by Australia’s best surf breaks.

Victorian tour dates have just been announced, with national dates set to follow in early December.

Feb 1 – The Torquay Hotel, VIC

Feb 2 – The Great Australian Beer Festival, Racecourse, Geelong, VIC (afternoon)

Feb 2 – The Great Australian Beer Festival, Cuda Bar, Lorne, VIC (evening)

More Australian coastal tour dates will be announced shortly, check Adam’s Facebook for updates.

When he’s not playing music, Adam continues to spend most of his waking moments either writing or surfing, which for him go hand in hand;

“The ocean is like music to me, it is my space, it’s where I escape from the chaos of this world and where it all just seems to fall into place. Out there I can think clearly and that is where I find my peace.”

Born in Ontario, Canada, Adam moved to Australia with his family at age six. Confessing he’s “living the dream”, he has chased the Aussie waves and his musical ambition across the country, having lived in the southern coastal town of Rockingham in WA, moved way up north to Cairns and now residing beachside in Melbourne.

Very close with his family, Hynes craves exploration and creating new memories, particularly those that inspire a song – “I’ve always been one for an adventure, packing up and just driving. Sleeping under the stars huddled next to a fire wrapped around my guitar.”

It is this that Hynes sings and writes about – love, life and the journey along the way.

“Adam’s a real find… he’s definitely on the right path” – Dannii Minogue

“The Canadian-born man-babe (er, singer) first picked up a guitar two years ago and has been rocking out his brand of soulful folk ever since, thoroughly impressing audiences everywhere” –
